Grease & Oil Impacts

It is commonly known that impacts need to be oiled. It is not commonly known that the clutch/hammer mechanism needs to be greased. This is an inexpensive way to make the impact last longer.

Schmalz's Vacuum Handling Systems

Jumbo: Sack HandlingSchmalz originated in Germany in 1910 and even though they sold to the US market, Schmalz, Inc. USA was not founded until 1999. Today Schmalz is a world wide distributor of vacuum products including vacuum components, gripping systems, vacuum handling systems, and vacuum clamping systems.

Ergonomics and safety are and have been the primary goals behind Schmalz. Since 1994, all products meet the guidelines of DIN ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 and carry the CE or UL symbol. The first vacuum bench sold in the USA went to a cabinet maker in 1984, and today that same product is still in use. Schmalz’s lifting devices simplify daily work and provide effective and safe support in a wide range of markets and materials.

Schmalz’s vacuum lifting systems are extremely versatile and surprisingly easy to use no matter what needs to be picked up. The combined technological benefits of vacuum handling systems and mechanical grippers create new handling solutions for a broad spectrum of industries including food and beverage processing, medical, appliance manufacturing, woodworking, metal working, automotive, electronics, chemical, CD/DVD production, packaging, palletizing, plastic injection molding, glass handling, printing and more. Through experience with these industries, Schmalz assembled a product line that is unparalleled by any other supplier of vacuum products in the world.

Two main product lines Schmalz offers are the Jumbo Vacuum Tube Lifter and the VacuMaster. The Jumbo is rated for applications up to 660 lbs. and uses only the vacuum to hold and lift the load. There is no need for a hoist, manipulator, or cylinder! There are virtually no limits to the type of material the Jumbo can lift due to the interchangeable vacuum heads and types of grippers. Certain Jumbos can even swivel and others are rated for explosion hazard areas. The Jumbo comes with a larger diameter suction hose that allows more air inside the tube than the competitors. In the event of a power failure, a check valve seals the air in the tube to allow the vacuum to hold the product until it slowly lowers and reaches the floor or work surface.

The VacuMaster can lift up to 4,440 lbs safely with just one operator! A safety lifting eye is built in to fit almost all crane systems. A swiveling drive provides even movement without sinking. Optimized suction pads grip without damage. To better assist applications, the VacuMaster not only picks up items horizontally, but it can swivel 90º and turn over 180º. Electronic warning devices audibly alert the operator if there is a power failure while a large vacuum reservoir prevents the load from releasing immediately.
