DID YOU KNOW?

PSI vs. CFM

PSI: Pounds Per Square Inch
PSI refers to pressure. Air tools generally run at 90-100 psi.

CFM: Cubic Feet Per Minute
CFM refers to volume of air tools will consume. Larger tools typically require more air and will not perform if starved. The tool's inlet size is a good indicator. The larger the inlet, the greater the CFM.

1/2" Impact uses about 25 CFM
1" Impact uses about 90 CFM

Dare To Compare . . .
Brand

We put the Atlas Copco grinder to the test against reputable Brand "X". We used the Altas Copco LSF 28 S250 E.  It is an extended 1/4" die grinder 25,000RPM tool. All specs were equal, both tools were brand new. We put them head to head on the same work piece and used the same bit in them. This was the most convincing demonstration I have ever done as a salesperson.

The floating spindle feature clearly works. When the operator was pushing the Brand "X" grinder on the workpiece (vanes on a cast iron pump impellor) the tool didn't just chatter, it bounced on the work. When the operator pushed with the Atlas Copco grinder, the tool operated smooth as silk. The experienced operator said he had never been able to do things he was doing with this tool -he was taking aggressive cuts, not just working away the material gradually, cutting out metal, not just cutting through it bit by bit. When challenged to try and stall the tool, the operator put all of his body weight into it and was unable to...this is the governor at work, maintaining 80% of no load speed even when under heavy load.

I don't make a living grinding, but this was a convincing demonstration. I would encourage anyone who is making a living grinding to try the Atlas tools. Atlas Copco Logo

New From Enerpac:
The XA-Series Air Driven Hydraulic Pumps

XA-Series PumpErgonomic design = less operator fatigue

Variable oil flow & fine metering for precise control

Higher oil flow = increased productivity

Closed hydraulic system prevents contamination & allows pump usage in any position

Pedal lock function for retract position

Ground screw for improved ATEX explosion safety

External adjustable pressure setting valve

The XVARI® Technology replaces the popular and widely-used linear air motor driving a single hydraulic piston with a rotating air motor and a rotating 2 stage pump element making the hydraulic delivery up to 50% higher and twice as fast! It also comes with its own carrying handle making it easier to transport to the job site.

The 2 pedal design allows operators to stay safely balanced. Pedals are depressed with the ball of the foot keeping both heels on the ground. The XVARI® Technology enables users to smoothly, continuously and precisely control the amount of hydraulic oil flow in both advance and retract mode - specifically for jobs that require accurate load positioning, aligning and controlled descend. Throttling the foot pedal gives operators superior control of ram advancement.
