Solution: Schmalz's vacuum technology combined with a pneumatic gripping system allowed the operator to grip the oil pans without damaging their small features. A rotating feature turned the pan 180 degrees and held it steady while the operator affixed the seal. Once sub-assembly was complete, the operator rotated the pan to its original position for installation on the engine.
